Q: Will I pass (insert the class YOU struggled with the most)?

A: Signs Point to Yes

Q: Will Brenda and Dylan go to the prom together?

A: You May Rely On It

Q: Will my mom and dad let me get out of being grounded early?

A: Outlook Not So Good

You see, the Magic 8 Ball was wise. It possessed a wisdom and foresight matched only by Miss Cleo, the psychic in the late-night infomercials (I’m really counting on my 80’s friends to be getting these references btw).

And as MUCH as we loved both the Magic 8 Ball and Miss Cleo, times are a-changing.

We can’t rely on these formerly brilliant predictors of success or failure as business owners. We have to start to take charge and create the outcomes ourselves.

How? How do we do that?

Well, let’s start with a few questions that the Magic 8 Ball may have missed out on….

Q. Can I be successful without networking, because I really don’t like it?

A. Don’t Count on it.

Q. If I reach out to leads that have gone kinda cold, I’ve missed them for a while, can I warm them back up?

A. As I See It, Yes.

Q. Is it a good idea to brainstorm with someone on how to nurture these connections I make when networking, and the leads that I’m trying to warm back up?

A. Outlook Good.

Q. If I’m on a zoom, do people know what I’m wearing on the bottom half of my body? Assuming that I’m wearing something?

A. Better Not Tell You Now.

If we're getting real, in 2025, we need this version of the Magic 8 Ball. Powered by experience, expertise and strategy, not by random-yet-hopeful predictions.

So, what will you choose?

Experience or guesswork?

Results or maybes?

Connections or Miss Cleo?

If you ask me (and nobody did, but it’s my article so here goes), I vote for experience and expertise every time. When you choose that path, All Signs Point to Yes for your business success.
